Fundraising events are an important way to contribute to the school’s operating budget and to help keep tuition low. Because Stone School is in the unique position of owning its own historical building, fundraising is a necessity and a part of your parental responsibility. Parents are encouraged to explore and suggest other ways to help raise funds to benefit the school and students. If you have any suggestions, please contact one of our Co-Presidents or a member of our Board.
Stone School has one mandatory fundraiser annually: the Spring Raffle. We have many other “fun”raisers throughout the year which are all optional, but wonderful, school community builders.
Stone School Cooperative Preschool holds an Annual Spring Raffle. It is a great time filled with amazing prizes donated from local businesses. (We also encourage members to participate by providing donations.) The raffle is our only mandatory fundraiser requiring each family to participate by buying tickets (either to keep or sell). Fundraising responsibilities for each family include the purchase or sale of $100 in raffle tickets in the spring. Tickets are $1 each. The raffle provides our school with monetary support for the upkeep of our building and grounds, classroom and building supplies, teacher necessities and much more.
The raffle drawing takes place at the April all-school general meeting.
Stone School holds several optional parties and shopping opportunities to raise funds. Some of our fun, community building activities include the Fall Harvest Festival and Chili Cookoff, Parents Night Out, Original Arts Work, Sweetheart Dance and Spaghetti Dinner and Yankee Candle.
