Enrollment opens each year in January for current and former Stone School families.
Open enrollment starts at the Open House in February.
Enrollment is first-come, first-enrolled.
APPLY: To enroll your child, please complete an application by visiting here. (Current Families: Please complete registration through your Family Portal. To request access to your Family Portal please visit www.jovial.org/sscp/family).
A non-refundable $45.00 application and processing fee is due to complete registration. You will be notified once your application has been processed with instruction on how to pay this fee online. You may also drop payments off at Stone School during scheduled class times.
Please make your check payable to “Stone School Cooperative Preschool”.
MEMBERSHIP PACKET AND DEPOSIT: Once your application has been processed, you will receive a membership packet which includes health information forms, emergency contact information forms, and school job signup sheets.
Stone School Cooperative Preschool has a policy that we do not accept any non-medical immunization waivers and we require that all children who are medically able to be vaccinated are according to the state recommended immunization schedule.
In order for your child to start class at Stone School, you must also complete a State of Michigan background check in accordance with state licensing rules.
A $100 Membership Responsibility Deposit (MRD) per family is due before your child starts school. MRD refunds will be issued at the end of the school year to all families who have met their responsibilities. Families may choose to make their MRD into a tax-deductible donation to the school. Parents will be responsible for the purchase/sale of $100 worth of tickets for the Stone School spring raffle fundraiser.
ORIENTATION: After you complete and return your membership packet you will receive information regarding Orientation. Parents must attend an Orientation to become acquainted with the functions of the school and their responsibilities as members of a cooperative. Orientations are held in late August or early September.
At Orientation, each family will sign up for one school job, one Seasonal Work Day, and one Weekend Clean Up. All members are also required to read the Member Handbook, which contains additional details.
Before the beginning of the school year, each child, accompanied by his or her parent(s) or guardian(s), will meet individually with his or her teacher at school to ease the child’s adjustment to the new surroundings.
There will be a two-week probationary period for all school members.
